Sherborne 5-Miler & Fun Run - May 12th 2024
Sherborne 5 Miler & Fun Run
Sunday 12th May 2024
A big thanks to everyone who took part in this year's races. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the Sherborne Estate and also to see so many supporters. We hope that you will be back again to run next year. We are aiming for the second Sunday in May - check back here shortly for date confirmation.
Without the support of The National Trust and their willingness to work in association with the school, we could not host these races. We are extremely grateful to all at the Trust for their preparation of the paths and time spent to ensure that the race went off well.
The 5 miler is a race through beautiful scenery. It is also a challenging race, with steep sections, varied terrain and natural obstacles. Congratulations to everyone who ran. The official results are here:

The Fun Run, although shorter, is still a race through varied terrain. It takes runners through the Pleasure Grounds of the National Trust Sherborne Estate on a course of approximately 1.5miles.
For some, this is a run just for fun (suitable for buggies), but for others it is highly competitive. See the Fun Run results here:
Thanks again to all the amazing runners and all the spectators who cheered them on.
A very special thanks to all the volunteers who marshalled, did car park or water station duty, ran the bar & BBQ, sold teas and cakes, did First Aid, manned the registration desks or who generally and generously helped out in any way possible (including the children who handed out medals).
Most specifically, a huge thank you to Rosie Massoudi and Clemmie Birtles and all of the FOSS (Friends of Sherborne School) team, who gave up hours and days of their time to make this happen. Also to Steve and Lynn from Lush race timing – lushracetiming.co.uk and Chris and all at Bourton Road Runners – bourtonroadrunners.co.uk. The school is incredibly grateful.
Thanks to the following for their kind support in the form of sponsorship, prizes and donations, without whom we could not put on this event:
