One morning per week, the entire school attend Forest School in the neighbouring National Trust woods where we have a dedicated roped off area of woodland. With a member of staff trained to lead forest schools, children get up to all sorts of activities from building dens to researching minibeasts. Forest School follows an exciting curriculum designed for exploring the great outdoors. Where possible we link our Forest School activities to the National science curriculum and do follow-up sessions back in the classroom to consolidate learning. Our pupils at Sherborne certainly know a great deal about our local wildlife and this stays with them throughout their lives.
